A Stunning Dawn

Did anyone else see it? Did Saturday start with a stunning dawn where you were?

I was sat drinking my coffee, trying to fool the dogs into thinking we weren’t going for a walk just yet… Does anyone else do that too? If our dogs so much as get a whiff of a walk they start bouncing off walls like a bunch of excited three-year-olds on Christmas Eve. So playing it cool is the only way to enjoy a coffee in peace.

Anyway, there I was enjoying my coffee when I noticed some stunning colours in the sky. I don’t have a clear view of the sunrise as the house next door has a line of trees blocking our view, but I can see the sky and it was lit up like it was on fire.

I grabbed my camera and clambered up the steps to the roof. Unfortunately, my camera was loaded with the 50mm lens which wasn’t the best for the shot, but there was no time to change it as the sky changes quickly at that time of the day.

I know the photograph isn’t up to much but look at those colours!

Just after Mother natures colour show, I headed out with the dogs. I bumped into a couple of other walkers who had also witnessed the stunning dawn. One chap who enjoys photography was also kicking himself for not being prepared for such a sight…

      Hi Jen, I prefer the sunrise, but that may be because the sun sets the other side of the mini mountains so we can't see it from home. I get that same feeling of it being special and only for me. Thank you for stopping by. xx

    Gorgeous Autumn sunrise. Or is it autumn where you are? I don't even know! We've been having earlier mornings so more chances to see stuff like this.

    Deb when I was in Greece I had a window in front of my kitchen sink overlooking the valley and I would see the most glorious sunrises every day. In fact I became positively spoiled because there was a show on every morning. And the scenery would change from minute to minute. I will never forget those sunrises!

    Certainly a stunning dawn, those colours are truly amazing, I hope the rest of the day was just as lovely. I don't get to see stunning views from home as I live in a big city. My saving grace is the trees at the bottom of the garden that line the canal. I love feeling just a little closer to nature even if it is on the edge of a housing estate. The crazy thing is, in walking distance we have miles of rolling fields and countryside, but when inside my house it's hard to imagine it out there. x

    The great thing about you, Debbie, is when I see a headline saying "A stunning dawn", I know you are going to deliver! Those are amazing colours and the silhouette of the trees adds ot the pic. I think the lens did a good job too. Question is, have you taken the dogs for a walk yet?
