Early Morning Light
I love everything about mornings. The peace and quiet, broken only by the sound of the birds greeting a new day. There’s also a feeling that I get that I don’t get at any other time of day. It’s very similar to the feeling I used to get when doing night feeds when the children were babies. Sort of secretive. As if we were the only ones in the world awake.
It’s a nice feeling and I love it.
I also love the early morning light. Sort of soft and gentle, very unlike the light later in the day.
Maybe I only notice these things as I am a morning person. Maybe a night owl feels all these things as the sun starts to set?
This morning when taking the dogs for their weekend walk in the hills I took my camera. Recently I’ve not been taking my camera on our walks, instead, I’ve been enjoying the moments and letting the dogs do their thing.
At the moment there is a plant that keeps catching my eye. A small thorny looking plant, with a blue hue that in the morning light is very eye-catching. That was what I had intended to photograph, but it appears that with all the rain we’ve had recently the plants have lost their blueness. Maybe they turn blue as they dry out? I’m not sure. But this morning I didn’t see one that ‘did’ it for me.
However, I did enjoy the way the morning sun was catching the dried out greenery through the trees.
My Sunday Photo
When I took this photo I was trying to catch the way the sun was lighting up this dried up flower head. The dappled background captured what I was seeing nicely.
What is your favourite time of the day?
