Going, Going, Gone…
Could well be in reference to my sanity, but it’s not.
Childhood and all that in between stuff is one of those phases that it’s not until you are older you realise just how quickly it passes by. I know that when you are in the midst of it it feels like it goes on forever and that around every corner is a test waiting for you to fail. But believe me, when you are standing at the other end looking back it seems to have passed in the blink of an eye.
I am already starting to feel the aches and pains that go hand in hand with getting older and don’t start me on looking haggard. Age-related diminishing eyesight is probably Mother Natures kindest gift, it’s her way of softening the lines and wrinkles. Who needs botox?… My advice is never to look in the mirror whilst wearing glasses and ‘Hey Presto’, you’re wrinkle free again.
But really? Who would want to be? Believe me, each and every wrinkle and line has a story to tell. Remember the time little ‘Jimmy’ got his head stuck in his cot rails?… Tada! A line appeared… And the time you found your teenager with their head so far down the loo you thought they had drowned?… Tada! Line number 3,896 appeared.
Last Sunday my son turned twenty one. We didn’t have a huge celebration, but we did celebrate with a 12km walk (no one was too keen to do a 21km one) and we had a small celebration back home afterwards with family and a friend.
On Monday he spent the day walking in circles shaking his head in disbelief at the fact he is twenty-one!
My Sunday Photo(s)
Gregs and his Dad… I can’t believe I managed to get a photo of Gregs holding food, he rarely eats!
The viewpoint at Kiliomenos.
Life is a bit like hiking. You can never be too certain what will be around the next bend. The walk can be hard, but the view will be worth it…
I know, I know… A bit deep for a Sunday morning!
Where are you in the parenting game?… And who’s winning?
