Sweet Sixteen
This week has been an extremely manic week, but it’s not all been serious stuff as my youngest turned sixteen this week (although turning sixteen, is quite serious business, I suppose!).
Yes, as of this week my youngest ‘child’ is now sweet sixteen, although I am sure there will be times over the next year when that fact is going to be highly debated. Just looking at this picture makes me want to burst with pride. It also makes me feel slightly old and more than a little bit wrinkly… Stand in front of the mirror with a sixteen year old and you will know what I mean!
Through choice, Catherine wanted a quiet Birthday affair at home and as is Birthday tradition, she got to choose the dinner of her liking; gammon, eggs and chips. Gammon isn’t easy to find over here, but we found some (and the very next day it came into Lidls as a special… What were the odds?).
This picture isn’t the best picture I’ve taken all week (as you may have guessed by the graininess of it, it was taken on my phone). I had a different one lined up to use, but in my heart this was my favourite snap of the week and as I always say follow your heart, I thought I’d stand by my words.
I usually ask permission before I use photos of the children, but as Catherine is out celebrating her Birthday with her friends tonight, what could I do? And she did allow me to share it on Instagram, so that must count?… Shh, but if you don’t tell her I won’t!
Does standing in front of the mirror beside your children make you feel old and wrinkly too? Or is that just me?
