My Intentions Were Good…
I had planned to share this post with the world last week, but as you might have guessed that never happened. Getting back into any routine after Christmas has been a nightmare, and blogging is no different, so lasts week planned post is now this weeks.
Many of us bloggers end the year thinking about our blogging goals for the coming year. Looking back over the past year, we analyze what works and what doesn’t, in the hope of continuing to improve our blogs.
For me, it was the the increase of visitors to my blog and the comments left that in the latter part of the year that surprised me most. After taking a bit of an unscheduled blogging break in the summer, it was the least I expected, but from September onward I started to notice a difference in my statistics.
Those increased views I credit to the blog hops I have been participating in, as they make getting my blog posts ‘out there’ and read so much easier than if I had to PR myself. They also make it far easier to find blogs to find new and interesting blogs to read and follow.
Hosting a blog hop is hard work, time consuming and takes some organizing (something I could never do), so I would like to give a nod in the direction of the blog hop hosts and acknowledge their hard work.

Animal Tales is a blog hop dedicated to any posts that are about animals. It’s hosted by Rosie (Eco-Gites of Lenault), runs from Tuesday until Thursday and all she asks in return is for you to read and comment on at least two blogs.
#WAYWOW opens on a Wednesday and is hosted by Nikki (View From In Here), she is happy for you to add up to three posts, just as long as you read and comment on two in return.
My Captured Moments is hosted by Heledd (Running In Lavender) and is a blog hop for those moments captured on camera and runs from Thursday to Sunday.
Brilliant Blog Posts runs from Thursday to Wednesday and is hosted by Vicki (The Honest Mum). You are welcome to link up as many blog posts as you like and in return all she asks is for you to read and comment on at least two other posts and one of her own.
SHINE Blog Hop is hosted by three lovely ladies: Jennifer (The Deliberate Mom), Tiffany (A Touch Of Grace) and Maria (Collecting Moments) and runs from Thursday until Sunday. Here you are welcome to linkup one family friendly post and are asked to visit and comment on at least two blog posts from the link up.
PoCoLo has recently acquired two new hosts in the form of Morgan (Morgan’s Milieu) and Stephanie (Life At 139A). This blog hop runs from Friday until Sunday and you are welcome to link up any blog post that you’ve written in the week. And of course it would be nice if you returned the love.
Word Of The Week is hosted by Jocelyn (The Reading Residence). This is a fun little linky, as you write and share a post about the word that springs to mind when you think about your week. In return all you have to do is share the love and read and comment on as many posts as you wish.
Just Another Linky is hosted by Kirsty (Something Crunchy Mummy) and Beth (Life As Mum). This blog hop runs from Saturday until Monday and you are welcome to add up to two blog posts as long as you read and comment on at least two others.
Snapshot Saturday is hosted by Debs (Super Busy Mum) and is a where you can link up your favourite photos of the week (taken by you of course!). It runs from Saturday until Thursday and she doesn’t ask it, but it would be nice if you could share the love and check out some other photos in the link up.
And last, but not least My Sunday Photo which is hosted by the only chap in the lineup. Darren (Photalife) invites you to share favourite photographs that you’ve taken. Each month Darren will select his favourite photograph of the month and the winner will receive a 60 x 40 classic canvas as a prize (very nice).

Parting Words…
There is no shortage of blog hops in the blogosphere and the above blog hops are the ones I try to partake in regularly and a couple of new ones I’ve recently discovered.
Taking part in blog hops will see your audience grow, but remember it’s not a one way street, you certainly get out what you put in. Linking up and running just won’t cut it, you need to read, think, comment and share posts to do your bit. If you enjoyed a post, then why not share it? You know how you feel when your post gets shared!
