This week is the sixth week of the Mommy Reality Challenge, hosted by Jen, Celeste and Carolyn. For those who don’t know, the Mommy Reality Challenge is a fun link up where busy Mums can share a glimpse of the unglamorous reality in their lives, with other Mums. This week the challenge is to share a photograph of yourself wearing your favourite, comfy, about the house clothes.
We all have clothes that we happily wear around the house, but wouldn’t be seen dead outside of the house in. They are usually baggy old clothes that should really be relegated to the bin. Sometimes they are even clothes that we’ve stolen from our partners.
Here is my post for the Mommy Reality Challenge link up:
The children are into their second week of the summer holidays and whilst I still feel like I am constantly driving somewhere, the reality is that we only have three or four really busy days a week of running round now. So I get to don my slob around the house clothes on the other days. A look that I might add, also acts as a rather good form of contraception as my hubby dearest does not find the look at all attractive.
Here is a picture of me wearing my favourite summer comfy clothes:
Not only did I have to wait until my ‘darlings’ crawled out of bed to have this picture taken, but I also had to endure what felt like a full length photo shoot, where I was moved from inside the house to outside the house to back inside again. I really don’t photograph well anywhere, so moving me around really didn’t make any difference at all – personally I think they were winding me up…Only another eleven weeks of holidays left!!
The shorts are a pair that I stole from my husband a long time ago. I thought they far were too feminine for a man, so thought I’d make use of them and they have become a summertime must wear for me.
The story behind the shoes is that for years I refused to even wear a pair of those rubber Croc shoes. I thought they were hideous…..And then I was talked into trying a pair on and OMG! they are sooooo comfy, but that does not change my first impression of how hideous they are – notice how very few people outside of the catering profession or hospital now wear them? A few years back everyone was wearing them, but I think they all realised that whilst Crocs are undoubtedly comfy they really are not a good look.
I now own a pair of Croc style shoes, that I only ever wear around the house. They are not only comfy, but long lasting too, I think I have had the pair in the picture for five or six years now. I wear them in the summer without socks and in the winter I wear snugly, thick, fleecy pink socks with them.
I will admit to having done the school run in them, but I would never pop to the shops wearing them.
Have you taken part in the Mommy Reality Challenge yet? If not, why not? It’s not only a simple link up but it’s fun too. Why not join in with Mommy Reality Challenge #6.
