So I’ve made a new deal with the dogs. I’d originally promised them that their weekend walks in the hills would be a camera-free affair, no stopping and waiting whilst I fiddle and fart arse around with settings. It seems it was a promise I couldn’t keep. Not when there is so much to photograph up there.
The new deal is that I can take the camera, but only on one day, either Saturday or Sunday morning. A fair deal, don’t you think? To be honest, they seemed a little grateful this morning when we stopped. It may have been early, but the humidity was already high and they were feeling the heat.
On this mornings walk I was very aware of the buzzing sound of busy bees. It was loud and from the sound, I could tell there were a lot of them.
The honey bees we get here are gentle creatures and not aggressive unless you start swiping at them, which wasn’t something I planned on doing. And a photo of a bee always makes a good Sunday Photo, don’t you think?… I suppose the photo of anything makes a good Sunday Photo, but at that moment I had my heart set on a bee!
The sound of buzzing led me to a bushy type of plant that was literally covered in bees. The flowers were small, but there was something about them the bees liked.
The dogs and the bees were happy to humour me whilst I snapped away. They were quick, but there were so many it would have been difficult not to get a photo.
My Sunday Photos
It’s amazing how the bees flimsy looking wings are strong enough to carry such a big body and huge saddlebags of pollen.
The photos didn’t come out as sharp as I would have liked, but busy bees just don’t keep still!
What ‘must take’ photo opportunity have you had recently?
