Night Happening
Okay, this Sunday photo may not be to everyone’s liking, but I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t grab my camera on spying this in the garden this morning. Yesterday evening when I was watering the garden this shed skin wasn’t there. I’m sure I would have noticed if it had been. This creature, whatever it may be (any ideas?), must have crawled out of the soil in the dead of night and did what it had to do. Maybe skin shedding is a night happening?… I really don’t know about these things.
On inspection what fascinated me most was the detail on the shed skin. The dried soil is obviously from where the creature crawled out of the soil… OooOOOoooo I’ve just had a thought!… I know, it even surprises me when that happens!… Could it have been a lava/ grub thing that grew and developed in the soil and crawled out when it was ready to be whatever it was meant to be? That would make more sense considering it crawled out of the mud.
The other thing that fascinated me was the fact that there are what would have been hairs visible on the legs and body. It’s a bit of a bummer that I missed the actual shedding.
My Sunday Photo
Not the prettiest of creatures, but how fascinating would it have been to witness the bug shedding its skin?
Any ideas as to what creature this skin may belong to?
