At Last, I Have My Crystal Ball
As a child, I was fascinated with crystal balls. Smooth and magical, I wondered if it was really possible to see what the future held by just looking into one. I’m now really quite grateful that isn’t the case, I’m not sure I really want to know what life is going to throw my way with every new day
Anyway, the nearest I ever got to owning a crystal ball were marbles (and I’ve lost a few of those along the way!). Come on. How many of you gazed in fascination into the kaleidoscope of pretty coloured glass in the centre of a marble? It was a whole different world. Pretty and untouchable.
A recent fad I noticed on Instagram was of people taking photos through glass balls. Once again I was fascinated. This time by how something so simple can totally alter a photograph.
It was only when John, from Dad Blog UK, shared his image using one that I decided to look into buying one myself and was pleasantly surprised to find that they are not at all expensive. So now I have my very own crystal ball and can see whatever I chose to see through it.
Okay, so maybe my ball isn’t actually crystal, but a girl can dream, can’t she?
These photos of the sunrise are two of many I took whilst on our hiking break on the mainland.
My Sunday Photos
The Greek village of Tyros with the sun rising behind me.
I really do like the effect taking a photo through a glass ball has on an image.
Have you used a glass ball to add interest to your photos?
