Monday Morning Blog Club 23/10/2017
Good morning people, fellow bloggers & Mum!
Yep, my Mum (and a chap called John… Hi John!) read my blog! Mum doesn’t just skim my posts, but actually reads them! How fab is that? How do I know? Because she asked me how my back was when I was heaving Buddy into the back of the car today. And I hadn’t even mentioned it to her…
As a special request, I’d like all my fellow bloggers to give her a huge wave… Hi, Mum *wave* (and John)…
Okay, enough of the silliness….
How was your week? Can you believe it’s half term already? In the UK, not here. Are you prepared mentally and physically for having your ‘angels’ home for the week? What are your plans?
I’ve been spending time trying to get Buddy to walk nicely on the lead. When he was younger he wasn’t too bad, but he’s a year old now and seems to have taken a step backwards and is a bugger for pulling. We’re getting there now he realises that pulling get’s him nowhere except to where he’d rather not be.
OoOOooOOoooooo, I’m also teaching him to fetch my shoes. When I get up in the morning I put them somewhere in sight, trying not to let him notice. Then when I sit down to put my socks on I ask him “where’s my pink shoe?”, and he gets one then I say “other pink shoe” and after a tug of war with the shoe, he’s already given me he will go and get the other one
I do realise that dogs can’t see colour like we do, but I thought if I named them, eventually he’ll be able to go and get the exact pair I want from the bedroom… I’m thinking to get to that level may take a while, but he enjoys it so why not?
It’s just a bit of fun, and something none of our other dogs cottoned onto. He has to have some retriever in him as he will happily fetch anything.
Have you managed to teach your dog something useful and fun to do?
Our Sunday Walk
Today’s walk was at the top of the island. It took us a whole 40 minutes to drive there, that may seem quick to some but when you live on an island that feels like a bloomin’ long drive. And the roads are so windy, it always makes me feel queasy.
It was a different walk, the terrain changes quite a bit from one part on the island to the other. The top of the island is noticeably stonier than where we live. It was worth the drive and I took plenty of photos (surprise, surprise!). Which I shall be sorting out in a moment.
If you would like to see the photos from last week’s walk I did manage to reduce them to a handful and share them in a mid-week post.
So what have you been up to this week?
Now on with the linky…
Monday Morning Blog Club 23/10/2017
Good morning and welcome to the Monday Morning Blog Club 23/10/2017! The #MMBC is a link-up co-hosted by myself and the lovely Jayne, from Sticky Mud And Belly Laughs. It’s a friendly link-up, with some great regular linker uppers. You just may meet your next blogging buddy here!
All you have to do is link up your blog URL and let others do the browsing. Don’t forget to visit and read a few blogs yourself too! I do hope you will join us.
The #MMBC link up goes live at 8.00am (UK time) every Monday morning and stays open until 11.55 pm the same day.
The Rules Are Simple…
- Add your blog URL (not individual posts please) to the link up below.
- Read and comment on at least a couple of other blogs of your choice.
That’s all you have to do. Jayne and I will go through, comment and share all the linked up blogs between us.
It would be great if you could pop our linky badge somewhere on your blog.
It would also be fantastic if you could help spread the word of the #MMBC by including the hashtag in your comments and tweets. If you’d like a RT just tag me and Jayne in your Tweets with the hashtag (@ChirpyDebs, @SMABLblog #MMBC) and we will endeavour to RT them all.
