How Did That Get Up There?

Buddy loves to play fetch. Not only will he fetch, but he actually brings the toy back and will try to place it back in my hand. Unfortunately, because his hips aren’t good we don’t play for too long, which is a shame as he is a joy to play with.

Out of all our dogs, he is the only one who will give the toy back. The others grab and run.

Sometimes the inevitable happens and his toy ends up stuck in a tree. A bit of a doggy conundrum, he can see it and he can bark at it, but he can’t reach it. I haven’t had the heart to see how long he would wait for his toy to fall, but I guess he’d wait a while.

Even Ugg, the cat, gets joy out of watching his puzzlement.

      Hi Rosie, of course, I got it down for him, just look at his little face! We've only had one other dog that used to play nicely like him, all the others either aren't bothered or pick it up and run. Thank you for stopping by. xx

    love the cat in the back ground, Bob loves to play with his toys and he will run after them, but he hates giving them back for us to throw again, he just wants to play with it

      Hi Suzanne, Ugg was a feral that basically adopted us, and she has turned into a lovely outdoor cat. Our other dogs do just that too, but Buddy is a pleasure to play with as he will always bring the toy back and put it in your hand. Unfortunately, because he has bad hips we don't play for long or rough, but enough to keep him happy. Thank you for popping by. x

    haha, CUTE. When we were in Cape Cod we got something stuck in a tree (can't remember what) and then Cassidy threw a baseball bat to get the thing unstuck, and then bat got stuck. So then he threw a ball to get the bat and the other thing stuck, and all three got stuck! So he got a ladder. Tamara recently posted...Your Fall Survival Guide From Walmart!My Profile

      Hi Nat, he has turned into a beauty and his temperament is lovely. Because of his hips, the vet is reluctant to castrate him unless it's really needed... They do look cute when they are caught in a predicament like this, but they soon work out who can help. Thank you for stopping by. xx

      Hi, Buddy would love a frisbee, but because his hips aren't good it's one toy he won't be having. He will fetch anything at the moment I'm trying to teach him to fetch my shoes... It's going to be a long job! Thank you for popping by. xx

      Hi Fiona, I did get it down for him, he is used to it as my aim is terrible. Those are actually oranges, which are late this year. I can't see them being ready much before this side of Christmas, but they will be worth the wait! Thank you for stopping by. xx

    How do you get that toy down? I bet he'd wait there a good long time, sweet little guy. I knew a dog that would try to get a tennis ball unstuck indefinitely, for all I know he's still waiting. Jeanna recently posted...We Got Lots of ThemMy Profile

      Hi Jeanna, if shaking the tree doesn't work, I'm pretty nifty with a broom, failing that my husband comes to the rescue. I've never tested to see how long he'd wait, his little face... Buddy is the same about tennis balls too, in fact, I think he goes a little nuts when it comes to stuck balls.. But that probably applies to most males (sorry couldn't help myself!).       Hi Cardigan, I did get his toy down. Cats can be mean, Buddy is very wary of her and runs a mile when she tries to rub u against him and 'own' him. Thank you for dropping by. xx

      Hi Catherine, I didn't notice Ugg sat there until after I took the photos. I'm surprised she's not belly laughing at his wonderment. Buddy is handsome, but his obedience needs some work, he's an adolescent male... Need I say more? Thank you for stopping by. xx

      Hi John... I got your name right this time!... I couldn't make him wait for long. I think he will be a well-behaved dog when he's older. He's at the testing boundaries age now, but his Achilles heel are his toys and playtime, so I use them for training! Thank you for dropping by. xx

      Hi Tara, I'm not that cruel. We did continue to play although I really must get better at negotiating the trees. His toy was well and truly stuck in the tree today. Even my husband battled to get it down. Thank you for popping by. xx
