Monday Morning Blog Club 25/09/2017
Good morning people & fellow bloggers!
How are you all? Are you feeling all relaxed after the weekend? What exciting or non-exciting things have you been up to since we last caught up?
As I typed out the title for this post I realised that this is the last Monday in September? How crazy is that?
It’s turned. The stuffiness and humidity have finally left us! The quilt is back on the bed and yesterday I took the dogs out for a walking middle of the day, wearing jeans (me, not the dogs, although that would have been quite funny).
I have also spotted quite a few people donning body warmers this week too, who can blame them when the daytime temperatures only reached highs of 27C this week! To be fair it is a little chilly first thing.
Oh, my! It’s been great. It feels like an age since I’ve had a work-free weekend and I’ve really enjoyed it. And to add to that enjoyment my daughters Saturday morning was cancelled, so I had two leisurely mornings to enjoy. I got some blogging done and once it warmed up outside I took my coffee and breakfast outside to enjoy and sat reading in my PJs for a while. It’s the simple things that bring most pleasure, don’t you find?
A Funny Story
Some of you may know that we live in the sticks and we know that rodents come with the territory. We have had them in getting into the house in the past and running riot in the kitchen, something I really don’t like. Since having Ugg (the woodpile patrol cat) and using humane traps in rodent ‘hotspots’ we’ve not had any in the house now for a few years.
Well, yesterday that changed and it was all my own doing. I was out on the back balcony when I kept hearing this strange bobbing sound coming from an outdoor cupboard. On closer inspection, I found the tiniest, baby mouse trapped inside a near-empty bag of cat food. It really was so cute.
My husband said to release it in the field opposite, but we always release any captured rodents far away from anywhere people live and as we were heading out with the dogs I said we’d release it up in the hills. Paradise for any mouse I would imagine with no risk of it finding its way back.
As it was hot outside I didn’t want to leave the little creature in the sun, so I popped the bag into a bucket and left it on the cabinet in the house. Afterall there was no chance of it getting out.
Not wanting to miss a photo opportunity of something so cute I went and got my camera…I expect you can guess the rest of the story… Yep, you’ve probably guessed right. We now have a mouse somewhere in the house!… I can see next weeks post may be a bit of a rant about the elusive mouse!
Do I feel like a right plonker? I feel like I’ve been scammed by a teeny tiny mouse!
So how was your week? What have you been up to? Have you inadvertently invited a mouse into your house?
Now on with the link-up…
