A Nice River To Boat On
This river is located on the outskirts of Zante town. It looks quite nice don’t you think? Sort of serene and a place where you could imagine dropping a line to catch some tea? Or sitting and reading a book on a warm afternoon?
Have a guess what it’s called? I mean, the name it’s affectionately known as not it’s real name. To be honest I have no idea what it’s official name is and I’m not sure who does! Shame on us!
It looks a lovely river to boat on, doesn’t it? Although it doesn’t actually go anywhere and is probably too shallow and full of rubbish, so that idea wouldn’t work
Anyone for a Smelly River boat trip? Yep, would you believe that’s what this peaceful looking river is affectionately known as, Smelly River? It used to get a bit whiffy at times, but I’ve not noticed that for a while. Not since work was done on it a few years back.
When I took this photo it was St.Dennis’ Day and there were literally hundreds of people around. Something you can’t see in the photo. It just goes to show a picture may be worth a thousand words, but it can also be very misleading!
My Sunday Photo
A boat trip down Smelly River anyone?
Are you a fan of river boat trips? Do you live near a nice river to boat on?
