Before And After The Storm
At the beginning of the week, big storms were forecast for Friday. And how right they were! The storms were terrific. The thunder was so loud we could feel it vibrating up through the floor. The lightning sounded like a whip cracking and the wind was so strong trees in the town were actually uprooted.
Before The Storm
When I got up yesterday morning and let the dogs out. The sky at the front of the house never gave reason to believe there was a storm heading our way.
However, the view at the back of the house told a very different story. It was pretty obvious, just by looking, that the forecast was correct. There was very much the sense of the calm before the storm.
After The Storm
Today I went outside to be confronted by the sight of my husband and two children picking up the satsumas and oranges that had been blown down in the storm. We have several fruit trees around the house, and unfortunately, we lost a significant amount. Compared to the damage that the storm must have caused to the olive crops, it’s pretty insignificant.
If I had known what they were up to. I would have taken a snap of the orange laden garden before they started to clear up.
As with many men of a certain age, my husbands’ pride and joy is his lawn.
