New Years Day Walk Up Mount Skopos
I enjoy New Year. Daft as it sounds, everything seems that much fresher and newer when the sun rises on New Years day than it does on any other day of the year. I got similar feelings seeing the first sun rise the morning after my children were born; an it’s new, but it’s not new, sort of feeling.
I am one of those people who have an early morning body clock. No matter what time I go to bed I still wake up bright and early, which is both a curse (there are times I envy those who sleep past 7am) and a blessing (I love that early morning feeling, when the world is still half a sleep).
Because of this I look forward to New Years Morning, rather than the celebrations on Old Years Night. I love letting the dogs out first thing and taking a moment to take in the stillness of the New Year.
Last year (nearly put this year) we have joined a walking group and have enjoyed exploring the island (Zakynthos) whilst meeting new people. So I was ecstatic when a walk up Mount Skopos was planned for New Years Day.
I Couldn’t Decide Which Photographs To Share, So…
How did you spend New Year?
