And Barely A Place To Sleep…
Children love soft toys. I myself still remember having stacks of soft toys on my bed (yes, Catherine I can still remember back that far!), and my two were no different.
They grew up with a room full of soft toys, which seemed to spend more time on the floor than on their beds. It was only a couple of years ago that we actually culled a lot of them giving them to a charity that were making up Christmas boxes for less fortunate families. I must admit that it even saddened me to see some of them go and we did keep the more sentimental ones, some of them handmade by family members who are no longer with us.
The Mommy Reality Challenge…
Is a fun fortnightly challenge, hosted by Jen and Celeste. Basically they set us Mums (or Dads) a photographic challenge which we have a fortnight to complete.
This fortnight the challenge was to take a photograph of our ‘Darlings’ buried under a pile of their soft toys. Having two older children (15 and 18), I wasn’t sure if I had enough pester power to get at least one of them to humour me and have their photo taken buried under their now rather dusty, old soft toys.
It was hard work, but I managed to get Catherine (my daughter) to pose for me. I plied her with plenty of home made honeycomb (bad food Friday), got her in a sugar stupor and pounced when she was least expecting it. She was lying on my bed anyway, so it was just a matter of quickly piling the soft toys on top of her and taking a photo before she changed her mind.
It worked a treat and I got to partake in another #MommyReality Challenge!
My Mommy Reality Picture…
I am glad to see that for all her teenager ways that she is still up for a laugh, even at her own expense, because lets face it, to be have a photograph shared on-line of you being buried under a pile of soft toys at the age of 15 is pretty uncool by any teenagers standards!
Thank you Catherine. I would say that I owe you big time, but on second thoughts we’ll call it quits!
Have you taken part in the Mommy Reality Challenge yet?
