Mommy Reality #35
For this fortnights Reality Challenge, Jen and Celeste have asked us Mums (and Dads) to share our nemesis. We all have them, those things that wind us up and make our lives a misery.
I did have to really think for this challenge as there are things that bother me occasionally that couldn’t really be considered my nemesis and then there are things that REALLY bother me.
Like being stuck behind a group of tourists on quad bikes (that I am sure are not legal to drive on the main roads, but are rented out anyway). Usually they are driven by groups (making overtaking difficult) of shirtless youngsters, who have left their brains under the bed at home before getting on the plane over here.
Often the youngsters drive like silly buggars (making overtaking dangerous), because they are on holiday and think they are invincible. And rarely are the drivers wearing helmets…All is hunky dorey, until the inevitable happens and someone dies.
The other people likely to be seen driving quad bikes on the main roads are older people, who lack the confidence to hire a car, can’t ride a moped, but think it’s a good idea to hire a quad bike. These people usually drive at 20km and are all over the road…Let’s face it quad bikes aren’t designed to be driven on the roads making them very unstable, especially when turning a corner.
Getting stuck behind a quad bike can double the length of a journey and life is just too short for that!
But as it wouldn’t be sensible to photograph them whilst stuck behind them, I have come up with another nemesis…
Deep breath in and slow breath out…
My Nemesis…
One thing I like to do is to share blog posts I enjoy. After all I like it when some takes the time to share mine. Sharing a blog post on Twitter is simple and straight forward as is Pinterest (I don’t do FaceBook or Instagram), but more often than not when I go to share on Google+ I can’t see the share button.
It usually happens when the image is on the large side as it pushes the buttons down, past the line of my computer screen. Some posts do have scrolling Google+ sharing, but most don’t.
What I then do is open Google+ in my browser and copy and paste the link. When I do that I can scroll up, which brings the share button onto the screen, which is simple enough to do, but with our internet speed it takes a lot longer.
I’d be interested to know if anyone else has the same problem…
Well that’s enough ranting before bed!
The Mommy Reality Challenge runs for another week, so why not pop over, check it out and join in.
