My Word Of The Week…Anniversary!
I still can’t quite believe that this week I celebrated my twenty first wedding anniversary! I find it hard to get my head around the fact that I have been married for quite that long, as I feel no older now than I did back then, so where on earth has the time gone? That time has passed so quickly is scarey in its self. I swear it was only yesterday that we were still living in a small house on the bank of the River Kromme in South Africa. Child and worry free!
Twenty One Years Ago…
We were just married and embarking on a new time in our lives. Everything was exciting and new. Children weren’t part of the plan back then, but we had our little dog Zippy that we doted on. We had no future plans as such and just went with the flow, taking one day at a time.
In those twenty one years so much has happened, we could never have foreseen it.
This year we actually made the effort to celebrate our anniversary by going out for a meal together. It was a bit strange to go out, just the two of us, without the children or meeting up with someone. In fact I can’t remember the last time we went out together, just the two of us; not that we don’t get on or anything, as most of the time we do and as for running out of things to talk about, I have more trouble not talking than talking.
The main reason we don’t go out just the two of us is that we run on different body clocks. My husband is a night owl and I am an early bird. My husband likes his beer and I’d rather have a cup of tea. In a nutshell we are total opposite ( which may have something to do with why we are still married after twenty one years!).
By ten o’clock at night I am yawning and ready for bed, which doesn’t go down well on a night out.
