It’s that time of week when us Mums can shake off the pretence and show the world what being a Mum is really like!
The Mommy Reality Challenge is a fun link up/challenge that is hosted by Jen, Carolyn and Celeste. Being Mum’s themselves they thought it was about time that us Mums came clean and exposed what being a Mum is really like. Over the past eight weeks, Mums across the blogosphere have been asked to take part in a weekly challenge and to share it – the word challenge may make you run for the hills, but please don’t, the Mommy Reality Challenge is fun and all done in good nature, I promise you.
This weeks challenge is to share a picture of our guilty pleasures, anything that us Mums may squirrel away for when times get tough and we need a pick me up. These guilty pleasures most certainly don’t get shared with the children, in fact they probably don’t know they exist!….Or do they?….MMMmmm……I suspect mine do!
My Guilty Pleasure…
My guilty pleasure is chocolate. Not any old chocolate, but Cadbury’s chocolate. If there is none in the house I have been known to get jittery and snarly. It’s not that I sit and eat it constantly, but as long as I know it’s there I am happy. Some days just knowing I have my guilty pleasure stash gives me the strength to dig deep and keep going.
I keep my ‘secret’ stash tucked away under the bed in a storage container…
The bar of Cadbury’s I have stashed away at the moment is a whopping eight hundred and fifty gram bar that I was given for Easter. My Mum gets me one every year either for Christmas or Easter, ‘cos she loves me! The eat by date on this bar isn’t until February 2015, so I have plenty of time to finish it……Don’t be fooled by the presentation box it’s in, I have nibbled my way through about a quarter of the bar so far.
My guilty pleasure stash also contains some giant Cadbury’s chocolate buttons, salt and vinegar Pringles for when I don’t fancy chocolate and I removed the Magic double chocolate and caramel ice cream from the freezer just for the photo. I keep that one tucked away at the back of the freezer…….If it’s not there when I fancy it I know you’ve read this, Oh daughter of mine!…
My stash never, ever gets raided for Fridays. Fridays are when we eat bad food [Cadbury’ss chocolate and three minute noodles] and watch bad television…..My stash is MY STASH and nobody needs to know, although I am pretty sure they suspect.
My other guilty pleasure is…
Shameless. The British version. It is so funny, maybe because the characters bear a vague resemblance to people I knew a long time ago. Because of the nature of the program, I don’t watch it when the children are around, which is what makes it my guilty pleasure.
I’ve shared my guilty pleasures. What are yours?
