I love the idea of the Mommy Reality Challenge that has been set up by Jen, Celeste and Carolyn and was a bit worried that although I had taken the picture for this weeks Mommy Reality Challenge two days ago, I just wasn’t going to find the time to post it.
Luckily it is a challenge that runs for a few days, giving us busy Mums time to join in the fun. Although there are still three days left of this fun challenge, I have decided that the dishes can wait and the washing can wait, after all they will still be there when I have finished this post – unless by some miracle one of the children sees the light and decides to do them instead of revising.
Joking apart that is a distinct possibility. Revise? Or do dishes? Revise? Or do dishes?…..Take an unplanned break from revising? Get in Mums good books?….See the possibility?
This weeks Mommy Reality Challenge is the second challenge helping Mums to see the funny side of being a Mum and to know that none of us are perfect. The challenge is to take a picture of a meal that you served to your children.
Here is the dinner I served up for my son and husband on Sunday night. I admit that it actually looks quite good, although it was slung together in a matter of minutes…..Don’t you just love leftover dinners?
The chicken and rice was left over from Fridays dinner and the salad took just a few minutes to chop. As there wasn’t enough for all of us, the men got to eat dinner whilst the women looked on…..
Not really, my daughter had her first attempt at making pancakes earlier that afternoon and we were still full up after having eaten far too many!
What can I say she is a perfectionist….Not! But that was the best excuse we could come up with for pigging out…..Even if the pancakes weren’t looking too appetizing. Parents must encourage their children…Right?
My favourite filling on Sunday was probably chocolate spread and coconut, although the traditional sugar and lemon can’t be beaten.
So that was my post for the Mommy Reality Challenge #2. What’s yours?
And I was right, the dishes and the washing are still there as they were an hour and a half ago!
