Monday Morning Blog Club 26/06/17
Good morning people & fellow bloggers!
How does this Monday morning find you? How’s the weather where you are? Yes, I am still typically English in many ways! There is always time for tea and a chat about the weather!
We are having a bit of a heatwave over here. As I write this it is 8.15 at night and still 31C. Tomorrow is meant to be even hotter! I feel the first swim of the summer coming on, but I do have lots to do. My Mum turns 70 next week and she has been busy preparing food for a buffet for friends and family, some of whom have come over especially for her birthday.
Don’t be shocked, Mum is one of those who is happiest when she is feeding people and she likes to do things her way. One thing she hasn’t planned though is her Birthday cake and if I know her it’s something she has left just to see if someone else thinks of it. She can be a sneaky one, but I am one step ahead! Tomorrow I plan to make her one. I can’t say I look forward to being in the kitchen when it’s so hot though!
No. Zola hasn’t managed to get out again. The fence now seems to be too high for her to scale, so that’s a big fat phew from me!
On Friday Zola was spayed and this is where the heat is working in our favour. The op was arranged quite quickly as I was worried about her going into season as Buddy is still intact (on the vets’ advice as his joints aren’t good and he is still growing) and would have thought all his Christmases had come at once had she gone into season.
My husband dropped her off in the morning and when I picked her up in the evening she was wide awake and ready to go. The vet was quite impressed that she had come around so well. She (Zola) even jumped out of the cage before anyone could help her down! There I was expecting to have to carry her to the car, but no she was happy to walk, albeit a little awkwardly. She is looking sorry for herself, but other than that she is just fine.
The Heat Is A Blessing
This is where the heat is a blessing as all the dogs are wiped out by the heat (we only have fans to move the air as I’m not keen on air con) which means she isn’t tempted to run, jump or go crazy and her partner in crime and best friend, Buddy, is too hot to jump all over her. We are still keeping an eye on them for the next couple of weeks though.
Why don’t we have air con? You might ask! It’s not that I don’t feel the heat, I do, it’s just that I don’t like the contrast of going from an air conned room to outside even less.
What did you get up to last week?
Now on with the link up!…
