Monday Morning Blog Club 19/06/2017
Good morning people and fellow bloggers!
I can’t believe it’s Monday again! Where did the last week go? First off I’d like to send out a huge thank you to everyone (old and new) who linked up with the #MMBC last week. It was the most by far! We love seeing our regulars pop back and support us on a weekly basis, but it’s always good to see a new face or two!
Last week this plonker forgot to update the post when I added the link-up button. Let’s see if I do that again in a hurry!
It was a bit of a week all round…
Zola Gave Us The Run Around!
We did have fun and games when one of our dogs escaped. Zola is a naturally bouncy and busy dog. She has dug her way into next door whilst chasing lizards and on a couple of occasions bounced over the fence into their property whilst chasing birds. Luckily on both occasions, she was safe and returned as soon as she was called.
This time though she cleared the six-foot wall and fence at the front of the house, and got out onto the road, which was crazy as she is not a big dog. By the time I spotted her she was way down the road and couldn’t hear me call. So into the car, I hopped, thinking I would catch up with her, but no, she disappeared into the fields. She is a beautiful pale brindle colour, which camouflages her well in the fields and on the beach. I realised that finding her was going to be a nightmare and I wasn’t wrong!
Back I went to get my son to help look and later on my daughter joined us. After two and a half hours of looking for her, we were on the verge of giving up, which I was not happy about but it was nearly dark.
As Hope Faded
I dropped the children off one last time where I saw her disappear and drove around to the other side, and would you believe it as I pulled up she shot out of the field in front of me. Not far behind her were the children. The poor dog was so petrified she was manic and ran into a fence trying to get away from us. My only guess is she may have been chasing chickens and someone was none too pleased so chased her away.
She rebounded off the fence and headed full pace back into the field! My heart sank. The children went after her and I got back into the car. Five minutes later I got a call, Gregs had managed to catch her! The relief I felt was indescribable as in my heart I’d given up hope.
Has she learned her lesson? Probably not! I don’t think she ever means to get out, she always seems to get out whilst doing other things (lizarding and chasing birds). The day she went over the fence was just after a man walked his goat down the road and she got really excited. When she’s excited she has a bounce that Tigger would be proud of!
The next day though, my husband erected a three-meter fence at the front of the house! I don’t think my heart could cope if she got out again!
So how was your week? Did any of your pets (or children) give you a heart stopping moment?
Now on with the link-up!…
