The Supermoon As Seen From Zakynthos
Last Monday the moon was the closest to earth it has in sixty-nine years, resulting in what we have come to know as a supermoon. The moon was close enough to appear 14% larger than normal and if you were lucky enough to view it as it came over the horizon, apparently it appeared even larger.
I have seen some amazing supermoon photographs, most of which put my attempts to shame. But I had fun photographing the supermoon, and want to share the supermoon as seen from Zakynthos.
The photos I took of the supermoon were all from our roof. The neighbours probably stopped questioning my sanity a long time ago, so didn’t bat an eyelid.
So here goes, my mediocre photos of the supermoon as seen from Zakynthos…
Through My Lens #5…
I managed t take some photos of the supermoon early evening before it disappeared behind the clouds.
Later on in the evening, the supermoon appeared to have a large halo around it. Which my camera lens could only just capture.
Being an early bird I was up on the roof at 5am taking more photos as the moon sank over the mini mountains behind us.
I loved the colour of the sky in these last photos.
As the village of Pantokratoras was starting its day, the supermoon slowly sank to the horizon.
Not the best photographs I will admit, but that was the supermoon as seen from Zakynthos, through my lens.
Did you get to see the supermoon where you were?
