Dithering
I’m not sure if it was the weather or the fact that I felt a bit washed out at the start of the week, but I’ve feel as if I’ve been dithering all week (don’t you just love the sound of that word?).
I’ve been wanting to change my profile picture for some time now, the picture I use of me at the moment has decidedly less wrinkles than I have now, and I think my profile picture should resemble me now rather than me a three years a go.
I don’t photograph well, never have done and probably never will do (my face does funny things when it has a camera pointed in it’s direction), so I’ve been playing a waiting game, in the hope that someone will accidentally take a semi decent photograph of me whilst I’m not looking.
Well, recently there have been a few taken, three to be exact. They are no works of art (a fault that lies with me and not the people who have taken the pictures), but I feel they may be good enough to use as profile pictures. The problem? I just can’t decide which one to use. I do have a favourite, but I’ve asked friends and family for their opinions as my favorite picture isn’t just a head shot. Their opinions varied considerably, which hasn’t helped (sorry people).
I’ve even considered putting it out to the public and setting up a poll on Twitter, but you can’t put photos in a poll, so that wasn’t an option. So I am still dithering as to which picture to use for a new profile picture.
And More Dithering
Last week was Greg’s Birthday, for which we had planned a walk and a barbecue, unfortunately the walk had to be cancelled because of horrendous weather. We rescheduled the walk for yesterday (weather permitting) and would you believe it? The weather was horrendous again (typical), so after a couple of hours of dithering at what time to call a halt on the walk, the black sky and rather large hail stones got me picking up the phone to make sure people knew it was cancelled.
It turned out that the old timers knew better and were still prepared to meet up, just in case the weather cleared. For which I didn’t hold out too much hope, but it turned out they were right and we enjoyed a nice eight kilometer walk up the mini mountains (at one point I even stripped down to my vest it got so warm, only to be lightly hailed on ten minutes later!).
To finish the week as I started: on a dither. I couldn’t decide what word to use for my #WotW and then when I did decide, I prepared (and dismissed) two images before settling on the third for this post.
How was your week? Are you a ditherer or are you a decider?
