You know the one…
It’s that feeling where you don’t seem to know your arse from your elbow and you feel as if your are bumbling from one thing to the next, never seeming to complete anything.
Please don’t tell me I’m the only one. That could be the straw that breaks the camels back!
This week probably hasn’t been as busy as I think, it’s just that I’ve been trying to get lots of little bits done and sorted, much of it blog orientated, but some of it not.
After last weeks post about helping my son to plan, you’d think that I may have got the hang of it myself. It seems not.
Instead Of…
Managing to sit down and get the things done that I want to, I seem to have spent a lot of the time getting up half way through what I ever it was I was doing, only managing to get back to it later and losing my momentum. It can be quite frustrating not being able to have an undisturbed length of time to be able to get on with something.
My Main Distraction Is…
Having Greg’s around.
Mornings used to be my time to get done the things that needed to be done and to recharge my batteries too. I enjoy alone time and handle life much better if I get it. It is safe to say that I actually need alone time, without people and interruptions, to feel balanced.
Since Greg’s has finished school I’ve been trying to encourage/ teach him to get on with things he has to do, like washing, eating and doing chores, but since he was little he has always told me what he is about to do and he always informs me when he’s done. Which, with the plan following routine he is implementing into his day, adds up to a lot of interruptions.
Looking on the bright side, at least he is following his plan, so hopefully in a few weeks he won’t need to write everything down.
For Years…
I have tried to discourage him from informing me of everything he is about to do or has done, but he just can’t help himself. Sometimes he gets into a right kerfuffle because he can’t understand what he has to do and in those cases I really don’t mind being disturbed, although I do normally know when he needs step by step instructions as to what needs to be done or how it needs to be done.
To Prevent Myself From Bumbling…
I must try to stay focused on the task at hand and to try to finish one task, before moving onto the next. At the moment there isn’t much I can do to prevent the interruptions, as I don’t want to dishearten Greg’s in anyway and in the next couple of weeks my husband will have finished his summer work at the hotel and will be home more.
I have put it to Neal (husband) that he could perhaps take Greg’s with him when he has work in the winter. It will be good for him to get out and about more, as he needs to practice interacting with others and it will give me some alone time, but my husband is not the most patient of people and will find his patience tested to the maximum when with Greg’s, so we will have to see how that goes… Fingers crossed.
Is bumbling something you find yourself doing often, or is it really just me?
