Summer…
Oh, I do like summer. I tolerate the heat much better than the cold. In fact I find it hard to believe I grew up in England and survived…. I was constantly being told off for sneaking the thermostat up on the central heating. I just couldn’t help myself, if I’m cold I’m miserable (who isn’t?).
Now For The Mommy Reality Challenge…
Hosted by Jen from JENerally Informed and Celeste from Leapfrog and Lipgloss.
For anyone unfamiliar with The Mommy Reality Challenge. How come? You’ve really been missing out on some light hearted fun. It’s nothing serious, you don’t even have to write a post (I just can’t help myself!). All you have to do is share a photograph of whatever the fortnights challenge is; this fortnight it’s sharing what us Mums (and Dads), love during the summer.
My Summer Loves…
Haven’t changed since last year (has it really been a year since I shared this photograph?).
So I added an extra one. For luck kind of thing.
Here goes….
My favourite summer thing is our evening swims down the beach. Last night was the first time in a couple of years that our daughter joined us, which made it even more special. It’s not that she doesn’t want to be with us, but the sea makes her skin sting like mad. She has been using coconut oil to keep her skin calm (which she says works). So hopefully she’ll be joining us again.
As you can tell by the colour of us we only venture down the beach either before the sun has risen properly or as it starts to set.
Summer, for us, is also the time of year when we get to catch up with old friends. People we have either got to know over the years or I knew back in the UK. It can be tiring, especially as people tend to forget that we are not on holiday too, but it’s nice to think that people actually want to see us (although I can’t for the life of me imagine why!).
Well, that’s my post for this fortnights Reality Challenge. Why don’t you join in too?
