The Mommy Reality Challenge is a fun link up, set by Jen, Carolyn and Celeste. The point of the challenge is to encourage Mums to share the everyday reality of being a Mum and each week Mums are asked to post and share a picture of something in particular.
Last week Mums were asked to share a picture of their children having a ‘moment’. Unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to join in with that challenge as having older children they aren’t so inclined to have ‘moments’ anymore – that doesn’t mean they don’t have ‘moments’. Oh they do and we usually end up laughing about them later, but as their exams are nearly over and the summer holidays are nearly upon us, they are both in happy places – so no ‘moments’ were forthcoming!
Why not check out last weeks Mommy Reality Challenge.
This week the challenge is to share a picture of the kitchen sink. This is a challenge that I would like to think would shame my children, as clearing the kitchen after dinner is one of their chores and as you can see from the pictures it is yet again, a job half done.
Now Mums with younger children may think that having children old enough to wash dishes and clear the kitchen must be great, but it’s really not! I have yet to walk into a clean kitchen and worse still it’s not unusual to find dishes that cannot be classed as clean put back in the cupboards and drawers and of course it is always the other one that washed it or put it away dirty.
So I often have to finish the job properly and when I call them into look at how I would like to see the kitchen cleaned in the future, they stare blankly at me, convinced that that was how it looked when they finished….Distorted vision I like to call it!
The other downside is that the kitchen floor ends up one big puddle. Luckily we have old marble floors, which are slippery when wet, but don’t get damaged by water.
What does your kitchen sink look like?
